New blog on Society of Occupational Medicine and CIPD report
The new SOM and CIPD report, ‘The value of Occupational Health and Human Resources in supporting mental health and wellbeing in the workplace’, encourages improvement via a focus on prevention and mitigation, not just waiting for people to get ill and then attempting rehabilitation. We (at Evolve Workplace Wellbeing) and they both highlight what is important and how to move forward via action and review. Dr Helen Fitzhugh has written a blog for the launch of the report, on how we can move from evidence to practice….

Ongoing Call for Research Participants! Please take part / spread word
Are you a manager in a UK organisation (business, public, voluntary sector all welcome)? We are looking to recruit around 25 managers to speak with us for 45 mins in Dec / Jan about their decision-making around workplace wellbeing. In honour of each participating manager’s time contribution we will give £20 in shopping vouchers to The Feed – an organisation working to abolish food poverty in local communities. Please be aware we have had a flurry of AI responses which is making it hard to pick out which emails are genuine volunteers and which are phishing. Help us avoid this nuisance hampering our research! Please include your full name, role and UK organisation in your email so we can get back to you. Also – please do let everyone know about this research as it’s an important area of study, but we really need more participants to be able to bring you meaningful findings in the future… Email back to workplace.wellbeing@uea.ac.uk if you are interested in being involved, or read more here:

New Podcast: The use of evidence in organisational development
Professor Kevin Daniels speaks with Valarie Williams-Foy, Senior Organisational Development Consultant at Imperial College London about using evidence in organisational development. It’s a fascinating insight into how evidence is used once it is ‘out in the world’. Hear about how Valarie has been building communities of practice that bridge barriers between departments. Available on all good podcast directories, and also via direct link: Using evidence to support organisational development (buzzsprout.com)
