About this tool
This new evidence-based guide aims to help organisational leaders and HR / wellbeing practitioners to improve their approach to employee wellbeing and achieve performance returns by building authenticity for wellbeing.
Created by Dr Rachel Nayani (University of East Anglia) and Dr Marijana Baric (Anglia Ruskin University), it is based on an academic article published in the British Journal of Management that drew on longitudinal case study research carried out by Evolve team members. You can read the article here: https://doi.org/10.1111/1467-8551.12628
This paper argues that organisations have better quality relationships with their employees (i.e., improved commitment, going the ‘extra mile’) when they Build Authenticity for Wellbeing. From more than 200 interviews, across 8 organisations (4 small / 4 large) the team arrived at an understanding of the vital role of authenticity and how it can be built (or damaged!)
The tool includes two templates that you can use to assess where your organisations stand currently and identify actions for the future:
- Critical success factors for authenticity building
- Assessing authenticity building for wellbeing
